the evolution of my She Hulk sketches during Sketchuary (that I forgot to post here as I did them because I suck):
- practicing weird action poses. wow, I forget how much I hate that costume.
- thinking about how much I really don’t like her costume. and how it doesn’t make sense for a smart, fashionable lawyer to prance around in what looks like a castoff from an old Jazzercize tape. then thought about some cool shoes I saw at Puma a while back and how they would be a much more sensible choice than gogo boots. designed a costume to match the shoes.
-refined the costume to keep the clean silhouette and color blocking, as well as the weightlifting gloves which were the best features of the original costume. kept the black and purple instead of white and purple for no reason other than that I liked it better against her green skin. left the top unzipped enough to show a flash of sports bra to both display the functionality and add visual interest (as well as avoid the weird boob flounders that ruined an otherwise much better costume she had in House of M). put her hair up to keep it out of her way and show off the clean lines of the costume.
I just like the idea of Jennifer getting her gear from a high end sportswear company so much more than that awful retro bathing suit.
let’s be real, that girl is way too classy for her costume.
some miscellaneous daily sketches from the last week of Sketchuary.
if you’re looking for a fun way to practice anatomy, I strongly suggest sketching your own skull. just take a quick selfie from whatever angle you want and draw right over it.
if you’ve been looking to get a portrait commission from me, now it’s easier than ever through my Art Corgi page
